Motorcycling WA (MWA) operates this self-scrutineering application ("the App"). This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide when registering and using the App:

  • Full name, date of birth, and contact details
  • Competitor and membership numbers
  • Motorcycle details (make, model, year, engine capacity)
  • Digital signatures (rider, parent/guardian where applicable)
  • Scrutineering inspection records and outcomes
  • Device information and usage logs for security and diagnostics

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Verify rider and motorcycle eligibility at events
  • Record and store scrutineering outcomes as required by competition rules
  • Send notifications related to your event entries and inspections
  • Meet our obligations under Motorcycling Australia regulations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Minors

Where a competitor is under 18, we collect a parent or guardian signature as part of the scrutineering process. Parents and guardians may request access to or deletion of their child's records by contacting us (see section 8).

5. Disclosure

We may share your information with:

  • Motorcycling Australia (MA) and affiliated state bodies, as required by competition regulations
  • Event organisers for the events you are entered in
  • Service providers who operate our infrastructure (hosting, storage), under confidentiality obligations
  • Law enforcement or regulators where required by law

6. Storage and security

Your data is stored on servers located in Australia. We retain scrutineering records for a minimum of 7 years in accordance with competition record-keeping requirements. We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your information.

7. Cookies and analytics

The App may collect anonymous usage data to diagnose errors and improve performance. This data is not linked to your identity.

8. Access, correction, and complaints

You have the right to request access to or correction of your personal information. To do so, or to make a privacy complaint, contact:

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available within the App. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
